Leo Quinn, Chief Executive Officer, QinetiQ Group Plc

Biography:  

Leo Quinn joined QinetiQ as the Group’s Chief Executive in November 2009.

Prior to that he was Chief Executive at De La Rue plc, having joined in March 2004. His strategy of investment in customer relations, innovation and capability to fuel organic growth, funded by internal productivity improvements and cost reduction, drove a return to profitable growth.

Leo stood down from De La Rue at the end of 2008, having simplified the Group and refocused it as the world’s leading commercial security printer. Under his leadership, De La Rue created £1bn in value, of which three-quarters was returned to the Group’s investors.

Formerly COO of Invensys PLC’s Production Management Division, based in the USA, Mr Quinn also spent 16 years with Honeywell Inc. in senior management roles across the globe.

Educated at both Imperial College and Portsmouth University, Leo holds an MSc in Management Science and a BSc in Civil Engineering.

Leo is married with two sons. His hobbies include skiing, shooting, thoroughbred horses and the performing arts.
