2010 Aerodynamics Conference

The Royal Aeronautical Society is proud to announce its Applied Aerodynamics Research Conference during the week following the Farnborough International Air Show.

The Conference will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of all aspects of aerodynamics, covering both the research and the applications. The Conference will provide an opportunity to raise the profile of the challenges ahead and highlight some of the technologies that will be required to ensure cost effective solutions for the development of competitive air platforms in a global market, while meeting the increasingly demanding exigencies implied by environmental considerations.

The Conference is targeted at aerodynamics researchers and programme managers from academia, industry and research establishments worldwide with the following objectives:

• Bringing together aerodynamics professionals for a balanced perspective of fundamental science issues, and technological challenges related to the current areas of aerodynamics
• International Cooperative projects, current status & wider dissemination
• Presenting new ideas, research results, and technology integration and validation
• Providing a forum for the presentation and discussion of results and experiences with a view to the future enhancement of capabilities
• Assessing state-of-the-art computational methods as practical aerodynamic tools for the aerodynamic prediction of industry relevant geometries
• Evaluating the effectiveness of existing computer codes and modelling techniques using appropriate solvers including Navier-Stokes types in an impartial forum
• Identifying areas needing additional research and development.
